The Nightly Turbo in Pokerby DonSaturday, October 03, 2009 at 01:29 PM EDTSome strange and amazing thins are happening in Poker these days. The owner of the magazine “CardPlay” was able to win the WSOPE championship event by defeating Daniel Negreanu who is obviously one of the big champions of Poker. This defeat not only made Shulman the champion but he was also awarded with another gold bracelet. Another interesting thing that happened few days ago was that Larry Kennedy and Greg Omotov are again going to play every tournament of poker which is going to be held anywhere in Europe. News said that both the players want to recover the $80,000 they lost during Full Tilt Poker. Kennedy and Omotov blamed Fulltiltpoker.com in the court and said that Fulltiltpoker is using computer bots which are obviously playing better than humans and the game is of luck more than skills. They also said that Phil is a machine and that is why it plays really good however, this is not true the people who have played with Phil say that he is too good to be a poker player. Party Poker again took some more actions to promote their website and they are successful to some extent as the Aussie Millions winner Stewart Scott is now going to work for Party Poker’s website as one of their representatives. He said that he will try his best to again defend his Aussie Millions title and the best thing is that this time he will go as an ambassador of Party Poker with a huge team of qualifiers. As part of his contract, Scott is going to Pokernews Cup having the Party Poker logo with him. The Hungarian Poker association is going to take some good steps to earn some good amount of money from the taxes of poker. Gergely Tatar said that the new updated taxes law will bring more than 1 million euros to the Government every year just from Poker. The poker association is also going to limit the number of tables in a particular venue. Although this is not a good step but it is necessary to control some bad things to happen. If poker association does not limit the tables then the saturation will take place and which might result in a disaster. Those were some latest and interesting events which happened in few days in poker all over the world. This article originally appeared on Another Harvard Blog. |
