More Eloquence From Our Speaker-in-Chief

The president addressed the military at Fort Irwin in California a few hours ago, and was his usual eloquent self. My heart goes out to the soldiers who had to sit through this. If you really understand these excerpts, please translate for me.
Remarks by the President to the Troops at Fort Irwin, California
04.04.07, 1:19 P.M. PDT
... Another part of the doctrine is when you see a threat, we must take threats seriously, before they come here to hurt us. See, what changed on September the 11th is oceans can no longer protect the people in the United States from harm.
... In the long-term, we must remember that freedom is universal, and the best way to defeat an ideology -- and make no mistake about it, these extremists believe things -- for example, they don't believe you can worship freely; they don't believe you should speak your mind; they don't believe in dissent; they don't believe in human rights.
... history has proven, has shown that free societies don't war with each other.
The last one's a beaut. Is there a view of history somewhere which supports that, other than in our feckless leader's head?
The only way you can say that free societies don't war with each other is if you define countries who war with each other as not free, simply because they war with each other.
Comments
I think the first commenter has it a little off. Bush speaks from the pulpit, and true Americans tend to vomit into their mouth a little when they hear him. More so if they do understand him.
~A!
I thought his comments were straight to the point: Democrats insist on losing, or forcing a losing policy for Iraq.
That's it -- that's all. The Democratics must have a Bush disgrace to counter the relief from tyranny that millions of Iraqis now enjoy over the dictatorial and genocidal rule of Saddam and his Ba'ath rapists and murderers.
It seems the Kurds are relieved from the genocide that the Ba'ath and Saddam were exercising on them, and that is just too much credit to give Republicans and this administration! Who do they think they are to provide Iraqis with the opportunity to vote (for real) in a free election? Who do these warmongers think they are to end Saddam's corruption of the EU by tempting them to assist him in starving the children, poor and elderly when he sold Europe for blackmarket oil. Instead of food for them, he got palaces built and adorned to further worship of him.
It is too much strategy for this dummy to end the effort by Saddam and Ba'ath Syria to undermine the Afghanistan relief from Taliban tyranny by taking the battle to Iraq!
Only Democratics should involve the USA in Balkan civil wars to end genocide! Only Democratics can bomb Iraq for WMD that don't exist! Only Democratics can invade (Haiti) and place another (known) dictator in power!
Only Democratics can . . . puff puff puff!
How does this:
Bush speaks from the heart and true americans understand it.
Mean anything about Iraq? Are you stupid? I'm not calling you stupid, mind you, just asking. Of course, if you're stupid, you're not going to smart enough to know that, so I don't know why I bother.
On Iraq, isn't it a little late for speculation? If Bush had run an air campaign against Iraq, I doubt you would have had a whole bunch of people complaining about it. But enlighten me on when a Democrat invaded Iraq, again? I missed that somewhere.
And you ditto-heads are so damn concerned about spreading your brand of theocracy in the Middle East that you neglect to notice that freedom and democracy are undercut at home while it goes on. I think that's kind of funny, and maybe that's what you mean by "compassionate conservatism".

Are you stupid? I don't mean to call you stupid, but where do you see me saying that Democratics invaded Iraq? You may indeed be a stupid idiot and won't understand what I asked you. If that is so, then you won't reply with the answer. (Dufus)
~A! goes on: "And you ditto-heads are so damn concerned about spreading your brand of theocracy in the Middle East that you neglect to notice that freedom and democracy are undercut at home while it goes on. I think that's kind of funny, and maybe that's what you mean by 'compassionate conservatism'."
I didn't know that freedom, democracy and security from genocidal tyranny was "theocracy." You must be pretty smart, eh? Or, say, you wouldn't be an hyperbolic idiot, would you? No, you're much too smart for that. So, what freedoms and liberty have you lost here at home, ~A!? Give me an example, please.
Well, speaking of doofuses (or is it doofi?).....
"I don't mean to call you stupid, but where do you see me saying that Democratics invaded Iraq?"
A~ was referring to your brilliant slice of sarcasm "Only Democratics can bomb Iraq for WMD that don't exist!"
Probem is your sarcasm is contradictory--you're trying to make fun of people who support Democrats, but managed to highlight the immense failure of your beloved Republicans.
Take two tranquilizers and try again in the morning.

Amazing! No duh?
:Probem is your sarcasm is contradictory--you're trying to make fun of people who support Democrats, but managed to highlight the immense failure of your beloved Republicans.
Why? Because it is okay for Democratics to bomb for WMD, but not if you are a Republican? Wait! Are you saying that following up on the bombing, removing Saddam and finding that there weren't WMD is somehow wrong? Only bombing is okay, but invasion is wrong?
No . . . that would be stupid to say, because Democratics invaded Bosnia and Haiti . . . even Somalia for an assassination attempt . . .
What is it that you are saying?
:Take two tranquilizers and try again in the morning.
Is that what you do? You have some experience with needing tranquilizers?
:--It Takes Two
I'm sure you know . . .
"Amazing! No duh?...Is that what you do? You have some experience with needing tranquilizers?....I'm sure you know . ."
Jesus, I hope you have a keeper. And do I ever feel sorry for whomever has that delightful job. Conservative analysis on display!!!
And replying in kind:
"Your momma!" and "My daddy can beat your daddy" and "I'm rubber and you're glue--whatever you say bounces off of me and sticks to you."
How refreshing to be back in Junior High School.
