Waxman Seeks Doan-Relevant Email Traffic from RNC

Wednesday, April 04, 2007 at 08:44 PM

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's web site has the text of a letter from Rep. Henry Waxman to RNC Chairman Mike Duncan, requesting emails stored on Republican National Committee servers related to the use of federal resources for political purposes.

The spur appears to be, in large part, the hearings on Lurita Doan and the questionable meeting conducted by Rove's aide about the Republican prospects in the 2008 elections (see immediately preceding post). The background is that, although by law all communications by White House employees is supposed to be preserved, many current White House folks have taken to, well, circumventing the law by using outside e-mail services. Recent congressional investigations into the firings of the US Attorneys and the activities of Lurita Doan have revealed that a lot of e-mail traffic to and from White Housers on "sensitive" issues has used the Republican Party's e-mail servers.

Referring to the e-mail traffic identified in the Doan hearing, Waxman says:

In communicating with GSA about the presentation, Mr. Jennings and his assistant used “gwb43.com” e-mail accounts maintained by the RNC rather than their official White House e-mail accounts. In their e-mails, they described the presentation as a “close hold” and said that "we’re not supposed to be emailing it around."[3]

To assist the Committee in its investigation of these issues, I request that you provide any electronic messages sent or received by Karl Rove, J. Scott Jennings, or any other White House officials using accounts maintained by the RNC that relate to (1) the January 26, 2007, PowerPoint presentation at GSA, (2) the presentation of any similar political briefings at other federal agencies or to other federal employees, or (3) the use of federal agencies or resources to help Republican candidates.

The Committee requests that you produce these documents on or before April 18, 2007.

This should get interesting real quick.

Do you think they will be successful?

I don't, because they still haven't investigated the misuse of the democratic process to play politics with judicial appointments . . .

I've been waiting to find out whether they will DEMAND that their email and other records be made available to discover the depths of the subversion they accomplished in undermining the constitutional right of a president to choose judges and state's attorneys . . .

. . . my guess is that Democrats will continue to hide their criminals ("Freezer" Jefferson, "Airconditioner" Reid, and "Billions-in-Graft" Feinstein, and along with the Democratics of the Judiciary Committee) . . . wanna bet?

At least they're doing something. Then again, you could fit all of the honest politicians in a three-cubic foot fridge.

"At least they're doing something."

Yes, continuing to hide their own criminals and misuse of government resources. In contrast, Republicans resign and continue to be investigated when they are in the majority; e.g., Foley, Delay, Libby, et al.

The contrast between Republican and Democratic ethics is startling; as we notice that Gerry Studds (D-MA), a pedophile who remained in Congress despite discovery of his abuse of an underage Congressional Page. Then, Barney Franks, another pedophile who had an underage gay lover who ran a prostitution ring out of Barney's apartment in New York. Both refused to resign -- and so we can very conveniently compare that with the ethics of a Republican, who wasn't a revealed pedophile, but who resigned for emails which were indiscrete; flattering the adult Page. He resigned . . .

Republicans pay for their peccadilloes, while Democratic pedophiles remain in office and are protected from any backlash.

Feinstein can steal millions in graft, while a scapegoated Delay resigns. A graft investigated congressman (Jefferson) can get an assignment to Homeland Security for taking payoffs and storing the loot in his freezer. At the same time, Democratics investigate political talks held at government offices; demanding access to ALL Republican email and memos -- a witch hunt against Republicans!

They are in no way the same; Democratics and Republicans!!!

Democratics hide their crimes and refuse to acknowledge them, while they vilify and muckrake every single thing they can discover or invent about Republicans . . . demanding resignations, apologies and criminal persecutions . . .

Disgusting partisan political genocide by a simple (in all its pejorative sense) majority . . .!

Adult page? You must mean the fifteen year old boy he was asking about his cock.

Look, you can say what you like, and you're allowed. Corruption in our government is rampant in both parties, but you're painting the GOP as saintly and saying the Democrats are evil. If you're actually going to call people out on corruption, call them all out.

Or you could just shut up. There's that, of course.

~A! says, "Adult page? You must mean the fifteen year old boy he was asking about his cock."

Did he say, "How's it hanging?" I notice you completely bypass the two Democratics, known pedophiles, who refused to resign (nor were they 'investigated, asked to resign, asked to apologise or prosecuted for their odious crimes) while you concern yourself with emails about 'cocks' . . .

Isn't that just so typical of slavish minions of the Democratic party?

~A! goes on: "Look, you can say what you like, and you're allowed. Corruption in our government is rampant in both parties, but you're painting the GOP as saintly and saying the Democrats are evil."

That term is of your choosing. My contention is that the Democratics are a gang of hypocrites who defend their fellow Democratic felons, while exaggerating Republican offenses; even inventing them.

For example, Ney is convicted . . . but where are those Democratics involved with Abramoff? Where is the investigation of Feinstein, Reid, Jefferson, et al?

It is being covered-up by the new, simple majority -- and you. Now, you tell me that both parties are being treated the same . . . go ahead, lie.

~A! continues: "If you're actually going to call people out on corruption, call them all out. Or you could just shut up. There's that, of course."

As mentioned, it isn't necessary for me to "call people out" as concerns Republicans. That's because Democratics can't be beat in highlighting Republican errors or crimes. However, on the other hand, we can't find ANY Democratics who will underscore the lack of morales and ethics demonstrated by the party leadership in covering up Democratic errors and crimes. If that wasn't true, you could write a coupld of paragraphs about what slime Reid, Feinstein and Jefferson just happen to be in their corruption, and call for investigations, resignations and prosecutions for them . . .

I won't hold my breath because Democratics are incapable of that sort of independence from their gang's demands for support . . .

"Democratics are incapable of that sort of independence from their gang's demands for support . . ."

Well, you've certainly learned your propaganda well. And I'm sure there's no point in discussing it, because you already know the real answer. But somehow that answer never comes with supporting facts, never comes with logical reasoning, never comes with anything resembling objectivity. Just the same unsupported assertions, echoing the paid propagandists on the web and on Fox, repeated over and over and over and over and over and over.

A few more commenters like you, and comments like yours, and we'll have to reconstitute the "Know Nothings" party so y'all can have a place to be together.

"Well, you've certainly learned your propaganda well. And I'm sure there's no point in discussing it, because you already know the real answer."

You are only fooling yourself and whatever 'choir' wants to believe your unsupported claims.

"But somehow that answer never comes with supporting facts, never comes with logical reasoning, never comes with anything resembling objectivity. Just the same unsupported assertions, echoing the paid propagandists on the web and on Fox, repeated over and over and over and over and over and over."

The "facts" are that Republicans are being investigated, brought to trial, and if guilty, punished for their crimes. On the other hand, the facts are that Democrats aren't investigating their own (nor have they in the past) when they are suspected of corruptions: Jefferson caught selling his influence/vote on film and $100,000 stuffed in his freezer; Studds and Franks discovered pedophiles who were protected from resignation or trial; Feinstein discovered to have given her husband's company BILLIONS in bids for government construction contracts (while they dazzle you with Haliburton.) and who knows how many other crimes suspected but hidden from the public!!!

And, all you can do is say that, "no facts, no support" to hide your scummy slavish support for the same pack of gangsters -- hiding out on the mattresses with their simple majority in congress . . .

Disgusting!

"A few more commenters like you, and comments like yours, and we'll have to reconstitute the "Know Nothings" party so y'all can have a place to be together."

Yeah, revamp the name of both parties, eh? For the Democratics we can call them The People's Progressive Democratic Party uber alles

"And, all you can do is say that, "no facts, no support" to hide your scummy slavish support for the same pack of gangsters -- hiding out on the mattresses with their simple majority in congress . . .

Disgusting!"

I was definitely right--there's no point in discussing it with someone who can't discuss. Enjoy your juvenile venting.

"I was definitely right--there's no point in discussing it with someone who can't discuss. Enjoy your juvenile venting."

Here is a thread where Democrats are using the political process to fish for evidence of corruption on the part of Republicans for misusing the political process! Yet, at the same time, at the very instant Waxman made his specious 'demand,' there are known to be Democrats guilty of corruption and malfeasance who are being protected from investigation, trial and punishment!

This is a gigantic hypocrisy by Democratics, intent on doing political genocide; rather than do the nation's business . . .

. . . and here you are . . . a stooge for your gang of 'process criminals' claiming no support for my contentions . . .?

They aren't my comments! They are a matter of public record!

Jefferson was caught on film, selling his vote and was caught with $100k in his freezer!

Franks and Studds were known pedophiles and protected from punishment, and maintained their positions in office with the cover-up of Democratics!

Feinstein's husband's companies acquired BILLIONS in construction contracts while Feinstein sat on the military construction committee!!!

And . . . you claim I lack support, when you can't even begin to deny it . . . or find Republicans who are protected in the same way that Democrats hide their pedophiles and scurrilous, corrupt politicians . . .

Despicable gangsters and their mob(s)!
