White House to public: **** YOU!

I really think we need to reconsider what we call "constants", those things we can really rely on to never change; death, taxes, relativity...
And the total arrogance of our leaders, oh yes....
MmmHmm. A thanks to Raw Story for this cute little gem:At a White House press briefing today, Press Secretary Dana Perino effectively tells veteran correspondent Helen Thomas that the American people's say in the Iraq occupation ended after the 2004 election."The American people are being asked to die and pay for this," probes Thomas. "And you're saying they have no say in this war?"
"No," Perino responds, "I didn't say that, Helen. But, Helen, this president was elected--"
Thomas interrupts: "But it amounts to it. You're saying we have no input at all."
"You had input," Perino says. "The American people have input every four years and that's the way our system is set up."
Obviously, Dana studied under Marie Antionette, mmm?
I guess I'll take the German chocolate....
Perino's statement comes on the heels of a direct assertion by Vice President Dick Cheney that he doesn't care about public input on Iraq.Don't you just love arrogant dictators?"I think we cannot be blown off course by the fluctuations of the public opinion polls," said Cheney to ABC's Martha Raddatz on Wednesday. "There has in fact been fundamental change and transformation and improvement for the better. That's a huge accomplishment."

And it has been this way from the beginning for this administration. G. Bush and Co. has never cared what the people of this nation think... nor what the United Nations think... nor what the weapons inspectors report... nor... and it goes on and on.
The fix for this is impeachment, but our "established loyal opposition" Ms. Nancy Pelosi has taken that "off the table".
We are in desperate need of real change.
