Thank you, Dennis Hastert

With the stepping down of Delay, the GOP needs a new leader. Speaker Hastert thinks David Dreier is just the man for the job, and I couldn't agree more.

After all, to see the GOP stand up for gay rights is this way is the greatest acheivement we could have ever hoped for.

I never would have thought it possible, but a gay man is going to lead the Republican party. Now, I know all of you out there hate the GOP pretty bad, and that's fine, but you have to recognize this as a great acheievement for gay rights in our country.

And so I thank you, Dennis Hastert, as does and every other LGBT organization and free-thinker on the planet.

We have come a long way folks, when a party only yesterday associated with the persecution and trodding-upon of our gay brothers and sisters now embraces them not only to be a part of the party, but to lead it.

Now that's progress, baby!
