The President as a "moving/falling object"

Scotland's the Scotsman has the details from the police report on President Bush's fall from his bicycle while in Scotland last July for the G8 meetings, a fall which caused him to crash into a Constable who had to be sent to the hospital.

Part of the story:

After a hard day's discussion with fellow world leaders, the president was looking for some relaxation. Instead, he ended up the subject of a police report in which the leader of the free world was described, in classic police language, as a "moving/falling object".

It's probably safe to say that the newspaper is not much of a Bush fan, given that its headline for the story is "US leader crashed by trying to 'pedal, wave and speak at same time'"

The story also recounts the President's past brushed with the pavement as a result of riding moving ovjects: a May, 2004, fall off his mountain bike, and a June, 2003, fall off his Segway scooter.

Various sources quoted in the story indicate that Bush's actions in approaching a junction lined with police officers, "at speed" and on damp pavement, followed by his raising a hand to wave, probably would have resulted in formal warning or penalties.  If the "perp" had not been the leader of the free world, that is.
