Unlike here, the French folk aren't taking kindly to fascism....

Right after some students hit the streets, now, unions are also hitting the streets. Gee, whatever for?

They're protesting a new and Bushie-style law that allows for new workers to be held under a two-year probationary period, where, like American probationary periods, one can be canned and well, piss on you, sir, madam.

"The law, passed by parliament this month, is designed to reduce youth unemployment by making it easier for companies to hire and fire.

But critics fear it will hurt job security - and they have led huge protests in recent days to demand the government abandon the plan."

Damn! How about that? Plain old folks just out marching! Protesting the slant of their own government attempting to become America Deux!

Got to love those French. Great food, great wine, great citizens, all. Just wish it would rub off around here, eh?
