Well, that didn't take long, Mr. Bolton

The bull is loose in the china shoppe, folks. John Bolton is causing an uproar in the UN, but not in a nice way, like as in "you should clean up your act". No, it's more like "Muah ha ha! Global warming doesn't exist, and all you poor folks should starve!"

Check this article, on Bolton's new position.

Long and short of it is, Bolton is doing exactly what we knew he'd do, challenging science and telling poor people to fuck off, pretty much standard Bush Rhetoric.

See, they drafted this document on UN reform, and the US has had a bunch of time to get involved in the process of evaluating and amending, and then Bolton issues a bunch of demands at the eleventh hour, calling for Global Warming to be removed from the platform, trying to cut the amount of aid member nations should offer to developing countries, and calling for an elimination of all references to the International Court.

Something I find interesting is that, the WaPo article fails to mention Bolton also wants to scrap the test ban treaty for new nuclear weapons. Of course, you have to go to the international press to hear about that one.
