Harvard FAS Goes Open Access

Yesterday, Harvard University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences (FAS) unanimously voted a motion on open access policy. FAS Faculty members now grant to the university a non-exclusive, irrevocable, worldwide license to distribute their scholarly articles, provided it is for non commercial uses.

All online poker lovers have something to rejoice now. The most popular video game designer, Mr. Richard Garriott, who is also called the Lord British, has come up with a new idea that will bring a lot of fun to online poker fans. He plans to do what he always does -- something extraordinary, something that others cannot think before him and something that he always gave to the online gamers. He now plans starting a poker gaming social networking site, called Portalarium.

CrowdSourcing Spam Blogging?

For spam bloggers, or sploggers as they are often known, copyright is one of the most daunting challenges. It only takes one or two copyright complaints to bring down a spam blog network by alerting the host, destroying a significant amount of work. Likewise, a few complaints to advertisers can strip a splogger of a large percentage of their income. Because of this, splogs have been working on finding ways to feign legitimacy.

Wikimedia Gets Ready for Some Big Changes

In April, the Wikimedia Foundation is rolling out the first of several significant changes to the user experience of Wikipedia as part of our usability and user experience program. We are changing our default look to a new theme we call "Vector" which makes essential functions easier to find. Editing pages will be easier, thanks to a new editing toolbar that makes it easier to insert links and tables, and a built-in "cheatsheet" to access help for the most commonly used functions.
