New Poll Finds 36% Think US Headed in the Right Direction

A poll conducted by Greenberg Research for NPR finds that just 36% of Americans believe the US is headed in the right direction.

When Will the Apologists Catch On?

Every day, I see another reason why "Karl Rove did nothing wrong". I see another post on Little Green Footballs, or another blurb on Michelle Malkin's nifty little hatesite about how the Democrats are chasing their tails on this one, and how Rove is completely innocent and, hell, even if he did leak her name, good for him, because Joe Wilson was a liar and his wife sent him to Niger anyway, right?

Abducted Iraqi Blogger

I recently blogged here and at The Liberal Avenger on the abduction/arrest of Iraqi blogger Khalid Jarrar. His brother Raed of the blog Raed in the Middle, has no new information to relate on his blog.

You know who I would love to meet?

If there was anyone I would meet if I could, any celebrity or political figure ('bout the same, these days), I'd have to throw my hat in for Rush Limbaugh.

Alone. Preferably in a place where he couldn't weasel out of a good argument. Scumbag.

What IS my religious preference?

What Would Have Been My First Diary

It would have been a great one. My diary. But I was discouraged from posting it.

This Is A Test. This Is Only A Test

If this were an actual diary entry...

Santorum's New Lobby -- NAMBLA?

I came across this piece from the AP and felt the need to comment on it a little bit.

It seems Santorum is shilling for NAMBLA these days. The sad thing is, he doesn't seem to realize it.

God v. Monkeys

Lee Salisbury published a piece in the Axis of Logic July 13th called Monkeys are preferable as ancestors over the bible?s God anytime!

In this very cogent and stark comparison between monkeys and God, Salisbury gets to the heart of the matter using the very tools used to "prove" Christianity as the more moral path than evolution: the Bible.

Sidney Blumenthal Takes Apart the Bullshit

Salon's Sidney Blumenthal has written THE piece on the Plame affair. The article is available here (daypass required -- well worth it).
